Unprofitable group

Once again, the lax financial laws in our world-class country strikes again. I wonder why nobody rang the bell until people gets burned, and their ads can continue running on the sports channel. Guess the typical Singaporean citizen are just fodder to be scammed, regardless by who. This thread has been around for a . . . → Read More: Unprofitable group

Tough times…

An insightful article about the current situation.

Yup, times may be tough… but according to Wah Lan Buffet: “Buy when there’s blood in the streets, even if the blood is your own.“

Of course, I’m sure he meant if you have not lost too much blood yet. Yes, it’s time to make a killing… . . . → Read More: Tough times…

How good is our million-dollar MIWs?

Not very good apparently, especially in times of turmoil and instability…

To the extent that I feel like totally cutting myself away from the news that I read everyday.

News like this…

But when there’s blood, it’s time to buy… Lately I’ve not been blogging much about stocks and such because I’ve dumped most . . . → Read More: How good is our million-dollar MIWs?

So much for my lucrative plan…

Didn’t make a loss, but…

The daily interest is crap. I could have made infinitely more if I bought funds with it, but I’m not running the risk of losing money.

I earned about 0.0045% daily of the amount I put in. That’s about an annual interest of 1.6425%. To get an idea of . . . → Read More: So much for my lucrative plan…

Unit Trusts, and making full use of your credit limit!

Recently, I started looking into Unit Trusts (UT) as more stable sources of investments and additional income due to the crazy equity market of late. Commodities and raw materials prices are also going up like crazy, so UT’s a good way of entering that market as well.

I started buying UT using my CPF . . . → Read More: Unit Trusts, and making full use of your credit limit!

STI constituents

They each have a different weight, and there’s some mathematical formula for calculating how much they are affecting the index. If you see STI -100, then most of the heavy weights probably crashed that day, . . . → Read More: STI constituents

Bottom fishing!

It’s been a while since I last mentioned any trading, that’s because I’ve been enjoying the bloodbath that’s been going on for the past 2 weeks. Since late last year, I’ve pulled out some of my holdings ‘coz the market seems jittery, but now I’m still suffering heavy paper losses from what I have . . . → Read More: Bottom fishing!

Nice start!

My 2008 started with a bang…

Bought STX PO again right after the announcement of the arbitrage approval last Friday. Sitting on a tidy paper gain now, and contemplating whether I should take profit. It’s still trading at $4.42 in the Korea Exchange, so technically, it should be matching but it’s still stuck at $3.69 . . . → Read More: Nice start!

Damn STX PO!

Damn bloody counter…

Got caught by it twice, once yesterday and once last month. If not, my realized profits would be in the green this year. Now I am slightly in the red. Grrr…

$3.44 cut loss at $3.22. Slidded . . . → Read More: Damn STX PO!

Bye WoW!

I have officially handed over my account to one of my ex-guildies. End of my love affair with Warcraft finally! For an indefinite period of time. Maybe I’ll be back, maybe never… I have made alot of nice friends there that I still regularly talk to, and some depressing memories too.

I also . . . → Read More: Bye WoW!
